Books Merin Guthrie Loves
Merin told us that "I was a huge reader. I read everything. I read every Agatha Christie novel by the fourth grade, and then in summer camp that year, I read her autobiography. I always had books around me, and I was always just tearing through books."
"My grandfather would give me any book out of his office. That’s where I picked up a habit of reading biographies. He was a big biography-reader, and I would just steal books out of his office. And so, I was reading biographies of Field Marshal Montgomery, who was a British general in World War II, because I was reading whatever my grandfather was interested in,"

Merin Guthrie grew up sketching dresses in the margins of her notebooks whenever she got bored in class, but never considered a career in design. After years in the non-profit world, where organizations are driven by how best to serve a community, she realized that women were not being well-served by the fashion industry. Her company, Kit, dresses busy women by making clothes "just as awesome as they are."
